Prickly Pear Flat

29 Mar

A geocache was placed in Prickly Pear Flat near some rock art during the winter. I hiked to the geocache but did not see the rock art, so today I decided to drive my four wheeler down and see the rock art.

The road was really rocky and a lot of ledges and lips I had to drive over. It was a fun ride.

The rock art was really awesome.

I spent some time looking at all the art and then followed the atv trail all the way to the end. The trail lead to a cove of Ponderosa trees.

Just after Ponderosa Cove the trail ended at an overlook.

The view was awesome. I could see Window Blind, Assembly Hall, Bottleneck, the Wickiup, and the Henry Mountains.

I figured I was all alone in a very remote place but I looked up on a cliff and there were some men enjoying the same view. I walked around to see if I could see the Swinging Bridge but I could not see around the cliff.

On the ride back I stopped at an old cabin site and there was an old cement dam.

The day was very enjoyable. To see my picture check out my Flickr page
