Left Fork of Huntington

For Father’s Day, I took my dad fishing up Huntington Canyon. We went fishing up the left hand fork of Huntington River. The river was flowing very fast, it was flooding too much for good fishing. We decided to just try it since we were there.

The trail up the left fork leads all the way to the Miller’s Flat Road. It is a small track following the river.

There are some nice campsites along the trail. Way back in the day, I backpacked this trail. I did some fishing back then and it was fast paced and fun.

Today the fishing wasn’t very good. I only got two strikes. One was right near the shore, I could see the fish and it was a nice sized fish. My dad only caught one fish. It was a nice Brown Trout.

Even though the fishing was slow, it was a nice peaceful day. After the river stops flooding it will be nice to come back and do some more fishing.

  1. I really need to explore this area more. Can you send me GPS info for this trail head?
